Text Box: Special request

Classical voice is a fast disappearing phenomenon in South Africa. More and more institutions dedicated to the teaching of these skills have closed their doors or converted to teaching more modern forms of music.

As one of the few remaining institutions to teach this art form, the Academy would like to appeal to you for help.

The Academy achieves the success it does due to the fact that students are given early exposure to theatrical conditions, a live audience and public criticism. (The Academy is in fact the only one to take students by this route) Without these elements the best singers would find it hard to perform in the wide world out there. It is just too competitive a business to tackle unprepared.

How you can help us

(and we can help you)

You may choose to sponsor an amount or goods we may require, or even a specific item on the requirements list such as the programs or the hire of the hall, or even an invited artist. You may even be involved in the mass sale of tickets.

Based on the type of sponsorship you are prepared to get involved in, and subject to the amount involved, we would be amenable to advertise your company in a variety of ways, such as –

Advertising on our program to be sold that evening,  and/or

add your company to our web page for     others to link to.

Every major sponsor receives a DVD of the show as well as 2 complimentary tickets and a complimentary program

Please talk to us about your expectations.

We also do corporate functions

·

· What we currently do

Presenting a concert is a very expensive operation. Our basic costs are:

The hire of the hall

Accompanists

Guest artists,

Rehearsal masters

Choir Masters

Printing of programmes

Advertising

Catering

Car guards

Because we lack sufficient sponsorship, we have to ensure that we cover the costs by setting the ticket prices high, which has its limitations as well.

For an artist to develop he/she needs to be exposed to an audience to develop the thick skin to deal with criticism and the skill to contact and endear the audience to his/her craft

Text Box: We really need your help!
The art of classical singing is dying in South Africa.
Those students who want to pursue this career need the exposure to audiences and we want to give them that exposure. Alone we cannot do it!
